How to find your Windows version

Finding your Windows version is easy, but the method may differ depending on your configuration. Choose the column below that most closely resembles your system.

Classic Start Menu

1. Click your Start Menu.

2. Go to Settings Control Panel.

3. Double-click the System icon.

4. The System Properties window will show your Windows version plus the service packs you have installed, if any.

New Start Menu

1. Click your Start Menu.

2. Click on Control Panel.

3. Click on Performance and Maintenance.

4. Click on the System icon at the bottom of the window.

5. The System Properties window will show your Windows version plus the service packs you have installed, if any.
